I live in a small 650 sq/ft apartment made up of 50% wood flooring and 50% carpet. The carpet was new when I moved in a year ago. Until recently, I have been using a Dyson vacuum that seemed to be doing its job. My son recently borrowed the Dyson as he was moving out of his apartment and it somehow ended up in the moving van and now it now lives 1,300 miles away. Instead of having him ship it back to me, I decided to purchase the eufy Robo Vac 15C Max
At the time of this writing, eufy has over 15 different models with various features and suction power. Prices range from $150 to $500. The 15C Max, seems to be the middle of the road featuring WiFi capabilities, strong suction power and cost $229 on Amazon.
Accessories
The 15C Max comes with a remote control, cleaning tool, replacement side brush set, replacement filter set, and several cable ties to lift your cords out of harms way. Since the 15C Max comes with WiFi, I simply use the phone app and have never found the need to use the remote control.
Impressions
I have been using the eufy Robo Vac for the past two months. Using the phone app, I have it scheduled to start one hour before I wake up in the morning. The vacuum is quiet enough that I do not find that it disturbs me while I sleep. It runs for 100 minutes before automatically going back to its charging station.
Each time I empty the dust collector, I am amazed at the amount of sand, dirt, dust and fuzz that it manages to find each day. My apartment gets little foot traffic and I always take my shoes off at the door. The low provide vacuum easily goes under my bed and furniture. It has no problem moving back and forth between the carpet and wood floor.
Whenever the Robo Vac experiences a problem, I am alerted on my phone. The app also has a find feature that sends out an alert if it happens to get stuck in a hidden location.
Issues
While I am extremely happy with the eufy Robo Vac 15C Max, it does have some issues from time to time. While they are quickly fixed with human intervention, it is important to note that it does not operate error free 100% of the time. Common issues you are likely to experience:
- eufy will die before returning to its charging station from time to time.
- It will have trouble mounting the charging station usually due to the vacuum moving the station on occasion.
- It will get hung up on floor coverings.
- It will suck up cords that are in it way (I guess that is why it comes with cable ties).
- Every once in a while it will work its way into a narrow place and get stuck.
